First Day of Preschool
Jay received a great internship opportunity this summer to work on the construction safety team doing the I-15 reconstruction in Utah County. This job was needed for his course requirements, but also is a great career-building experience.
The full-time gig meant we had to find childcare for the bug-a-boos quickly. It was a stressful week (that's right, we had a week to find something), but we decided on a Kindercare in Farmington that is structured and curriculum-focused to help the kids develop and learn while they are there. Lauren was extremely excited to go to her new school. I stress the "was" in that last sentence.
After their first week, they're doing ok, but still adjusting. Lauren's honeymoon period was only about two days and she's had a rough time with goodbyes in the morning, but she participates in all the activities and her teachers have been giving her extra attention and trying to involve her and help her to make new friends. She enjoyed the weekend with mommy and wasn't keen on returning to school, but we're getting there. She is learning about springtime, bugs and plants and likes playing outside on the playground. She also goes to visit Buddy frequently, which is fun for both of them.
Quinn, who rarely fusses, has started crying when we drop him off and wants to be held and rocked to sleep for the past few days. He never would cuddle or rock before. So they are both experiencing some separation anxiety that is likely to pass. Not stellar, but normal according to the teachers. Quinn spends time in both the infant and toddler rooms. He is learning to drink from a sippy already (having a hard time with this one for some reason. Likes his bottle) and has a report everyday of the fun games and songs and activities he's doing.
We feel good about the school and the people there and know they are in good hands and will adjust. On the flipside, Jay loves his job and is loving the prospect of working in this field longterm.

Fun new posts and cute kids! Congrats Jay on the internship!
Good luck to Jay! The kids look great, but Lauren is choking Quin in the last picture.
I hope the kids adjust soon and are happy to go to school. We sure miss them!!! Give them hugs from Fofa and Grandpa
