Easter 2011

We had the most fun Easter ever, packing as much stuff into two days as we could. We weren't sure if Lauren would even remember egg hunts, but she surprised us again by remembering details from the last year and all the fun at Aunt Ruth's party. Even more surprising is she remembered finding eggs in the yard at Aunt Shaunie's house when she was only 14 months old and told me about how she would find an egg in the grass and shake it (which is exactly what she did). This girl has an amazing memory.

We started the day at the Thanksgiving Point Easter Eggstreme and Farm Country, went to Aunt Ruth's Easter "egg-straveganza," a private engagement egg hunt at Aunt Shaunie's (actually, I think Bart hid them all - thanks) and then an Easter morning present from mom and dad. We have yet to introduce the idea of an Easter Bunny and I'm not quite sure I want to, but that's for another blog post I guess.

Riding the cow train was a highlight. The line was a little long and it was hard for Lauren to wait. I think we are a little young still for Disney:)

Running out to get the eggs. The hunts were segmented into different age groups, so she was able to get a few in her bucket.  

We couldn't leave Thanksgiving Point without going to ride the horsey at Farm Country.  

Quinn had his first pony ride as well. He had a big smile on his face the whole time bouncing up and down. 

At Aunt Ruth's big party, we colored fun Easter books and made candy necklaces.  

The egg hunt was at a field just next to Ruth's house. There were eggs everywhere!

Shaunie's house was a "true" egg hunt, where the eggs were hidden rather than for the picking in an open field. Lauren needed some help to find them, but loved the challenge.

With Quinn not walking and afraid of grass (we put him on grass and he won't move or touch the grass so he cries), he didn't participate in the hunts this year, but Lauren was sweet enough to share some of her spoils with him. He had a special football egg at Shaunie's.   

Easter Sunday after church, we gave a new book and puzzle to both Lauren and Quinn.There was enough candy in the basket. She loved it.
