I can't believe another year has gone by. We are so lucky to have Lauren in our family and tried to celebrate accordingly. She is so talkative and smart and remembers everything. She has a really fun personality, but seems to never want to actually hold a smile for pictures - she'll smile before and after. We need one of those cameras with the high-speed lenses. Here are some highlights of her special day:
Playing with Monet (ne-ne). She loves her!
Shannon helped Lauren and Sterling make cupcakes while she was there. Shannon did her hair in "messy buns."
She's so big she has even gotten over her mortal fear of balloons she used to have.
She went to storytime at the library with Sterling. She has enjoyed getting to know the library. It's a natural fit for her since she loves books. We finally got a library card and have checked out our first books.
At storytime, Shannon says Lauren is anxious to participate.

Daddy made a "Pooh" pancake. She loves dippies and is really into My Friends Tigger and Pooh. It's the only show we can stand to watch, hence, the only show she really knows.
Because her birthday fell on a weekday and Mommy had to work and Daddy was at school (thank you to Shannon and Stirling for making it a fun day for her), we had cake and sang to her with the family after the baby shower at Shaunie's. Here she is just before we left for the party wearing her new "big sister" outfit she got from our friend Erica.
The balloon from Grandma Barnum was a bigger hit than the presents (that's the way it always goes) and Lauren was very conscious of where Claire was in relation to the balloon at all times.
Playing with cousin Kiera on the floor was fun too.
Opening presents
Mommy made a butterfly cake and we all sang "Happy Birthday." It was a fun celebration. We love Lauren!
